Week 7

What a week!  A couple exciting things happened regarding Project Life.  First, one of my pictures from week 2 was selected to be featured on Becky Higgins' blog for the work photo challenge.  How cool is that?  You can check it out here
http://www.beckyhiggins.com/blog/2011/02/work-photo-challenge-results/
along with all the other great photos selected.

And second, guess what came in the mail Saturday?  My Project Life 2010 book which to my surprise was a huge hit with the boys.

They spent a good hour pouring over the book before bedtime Saturday night.  I'm so thrilled they enjoyed it so much and was happy to be able to say yes when one of them asked if I was doing another for 2011.  Their reaction was priceless!

Now onto this past week's photos:

Day 43- Saturday, 02/12/11
Tyler and Justin playing a Lego game together.  We all love how you can adapt these games to make them your own.  The boys are pretty creative at it too.

Day 44- Sunday, 02/13/11
Brandon works on filling out his Valentine's cards for school tomorrow.

Day 45- Monday, 02/14/11
Happy Valentine's Day!  Here's my forever Valentine.

Day 46- Tuesday, 02/15/11
Every Tuesday is Karate night and one of these days Justin will learn to tie his own belt but until then dad is more than happy to help.

Day 47- Wednesday, 02/16/11
Back at the surgery center with Brandon.  This is his second surgery for the same problem and we are hoping the last.

Day 48- Thursday, 02/17/11
It's been raining most of the week but really hard these past couple days.  A lot of good the pool does us this time of year.

Day 49- Friday 02/18/11
The kids have the day off from school and Brandon discovers just how many silly bands he has.  Wonder who will remember this silly fad in a few years.

Week 6

This month is going to fly by.  There's so much going on at work and home.  I'm not even sure how I'll keep up, but it means a lot of pictures so that's good ;0)

Day 36- Saturday, 02/05/11
How does this even happen?  Boys are so hard on their shoes.  Apparently he's been practicing a lot of kicking at recess.  Someone tell him to kick the ball and not the pavement!

Day 37- Sunday, 02/06/11
It's Superbowl Sunday and John grilled up his famous shrimp and sausage kabobs to take to the party next door.  They were gone minutes after we arrived.

Day 38- Monday, 02/07/11
Sporting a new scarf hand-knitted by one of my grad students, Aieko.  She gave it to me for my birthday and it's been keeping me warm ever since.

Day 39- Tuesday, 02/08/11
Finished!  I think he was a little intimidated by this set because it's over 1000 pieces.  He's had it since Christmas and just now got up the nerve to tackle it.  Once he started, he realized it really wasn't that bad and put it together without any tears--huge for him!

Day 40- Wednesday, 02/09/11
John's out of town so we decided to hit up In-N-Out for dinner.  This is Tyler's first double-double and now I think he's hooked.

Day 41- Thursday, 02/10/11
Brandon FINALLY lost his tooth that's been loose since November and has been causing a lot drama lately as it hung low and bled often.  We're all happy to have it out, and yep, I need to get that boy some chapstick and a haircut!

Day 42- Friday, 02/11/11
This is what a typical weeknight dinner looks like for the boys.  Amazingly enough 2 of them love and beg for broccoli-raw not cooked.

Week 5

I finally figured out how to get the Project Life Tuesday tag to work on my blog.  I'm new to this whole blog thing so it took me awhile but I did it!  Look for it at the end of all my posts.

Day 29- Saturday, 01/29/11
Tax time which means documents must be in order.  At least the taxes are now done and we're getting a nice return.

Day 30- Sunday, 01/30/11
My weekend morning must haves.  Yum!

Day 31- Monday, 01/31/11
Tyler's new basketball shoes get broken in today at his first practice.  He picked them out with his dad's help and is so proud.

Day 32- Tuesday, 02/01/11
My eager to help, cutest ever, monthly marker.

Day 33- Wednesday, 02/02/11
I'm so glad Bella loves the new bed she got for Christmas.  I call it her nest and she uses it all the time.

Day 34- Thursday, 02/03/11
It's the Chinese New Year and John gave the boys red envelopes with crisp new bills.

Day 35- Friday, 02/04/11
Justin is happy to be talking on the phone with his friend Brian to plan a playdate for Saturday afternoon.

Week 4

How is it February already?  One month down and 11 more to go.  I think I'm off to a good start though.  It's not as tough the second time around.  I've got a system down and it's just part of my day that I make happen.  I'm looking forward to what the rest of the year brings.  I just finished getting last year's pictures in a digital photo book (project life) and I'm excited to see the final product which will hopefully inspire me to get an early start on this year's book so it's not such a chore in the end.

Day 22- Saturday, 01/22/11
Today is my birthday and after a great day on the slopes and a good taco feast at the condo we headed out to the Chocolate Bar in the village at Northstar for some dessert.  Yum!

Day 23- Sunday, 01/23/11
Last stop before we head home from the mountains.  We needed to get the boys some stickers to add to their ski helmets.

Day 24- Monday, 01/24/11
I took the day off from work to tackle the mountain of laundry we brought back from the Sierras.  There's a load in the wash, one in the dryer, one in the basket, and 6 more waiting--ugh!

Day 25- Tuesday, 01/25/11
I couldn't find Brandon right after we got home from school until I peeked outside and saw him having a snack in the sunshine.  He knows I don't like poptarts inside because of the crumbs so out he went!

Day 26- Wednesday, 01/26/11
I found this flower right out front and it made me smile because there's not a lot of things in bloom this time of year.

Day 27- Thursday, 01/27/11
I'm so not ready for this.  He's learning to use my cell phone so I know when to pick him up from basketball tryouts.  It won't be long before I'll have to get him his own.  Oh, and I'm happy to say he made the team!

Day 28- Friday, 01/28/11
This is their favorite game after homework.  Brandon will play for a good hour bouncing tennis balls for Bella to catch.  At least it's fun for him and good exercise for her.

...and January's family photo.

Remember I said I'm doing one of these every month this year?  The perfect spot for the first one was in the mountains on our ski trip.  Have tripod, will travel!
