Week 38

.  .  . And here is the next.

Take a look at pictures from the week 38:

Day 258- Monday, 9/15/25

Another delayed morning commute.  I sat here over 20 min waiting to get on the freeway and ended up arriving an hour late. This construction stuff is getting very old. At least on my walk in I got to see some pretty flowers, well a few in between the burnt ones.  Haha!  The heat is back on for the week.  It's that time of year where Mother Nature can't make up her mind.

Day 259- Tuesday, 9/16/25

Remote works days are good for squeezing in other things.  On my morning break I was able to empty the dishwasher and as soon as I was done for the day in the afternoon I was able to get my teeth cleaned all mostly by saving on commute time.

Day 220- Wednesday, 9/17/25

Just happened to catch Bailey coming through her dog door to greet me this morning.  She like to play outside in her run just before I come out to give her breakfast.

Day 261- Thursday, 9/18/25

Another day staying after work for a different event.  It's the kick off to the vet school's hospital expansion which will be at least 4 new buildings and apparently our new marketing theme word for the next few years is "Limitless" which was way over used in the presentation today. This morning they presented to donors and this afternoon they presented to staff also providing us with treats and swag.  It was all very nice and all sounds and looks great, but I still want to know what they'll do about parking which is already a problem. The only parking related thing mentioned was that the first building going up will be built in the parking lot most the staff usually parks in but no mention of alternative parking lots planned!?

Day 255- Friday, 9/19/25

Happy Friday!  The first day of fall is coming up so I got out my fall door wreath to hang.  Later, the Friday night movie we streamed was Materialists with a great cast.  It had a lot of Wedding Planner vibes but in more modern times.

Day 262- Saturday, 9/20/25

Tyler's birthday is coming up early next week and we will celebrate with him tomorrow so I made sure to get his presents wrapped this morning before traveling to Chico this afternoon. In Chico I met a long-time online mother's group friend for the first time in person.  She lives in Virginia on the east coast and is traveling across country and back with her husband. She knew I lived close to where she would be staying for one of her stops and reached out to me.  We have known each other for over 27 years now so it was nice to actually meet her and enjoy some time together.  I have met 10 of the women in this online group in person now.  I think there are around 30 of us.  We all had babies born in Sept/Oct 1998 and have been a wonderful support group for each other over the years.

Day 263- Sunday, 9/21/25

I have this lantern I use in the mornings when it's still dark and Rusty is fascinated with it.  Later Tyler and Lupe came for Sunday dinner and we celebrated his birthday early since it's on Tuesday and he has to work that day.  It's always a good time opening presents and his brothers away at school were great about using Amazon to get presents sent here for him too.  Also the Niners were playing so of course he and his dad had a great time watching the game together.

That's all for this week.  How many more before I catch up?  I've got to be getting close.

Week 37

Welcome back!

Here are the pictures from the week 37:

Day 251- Monday, 9/8/25

We've had a cool down so now I can use my oven again without worrying about it adding more heat to the house.  Time for a yummy pasta meal with Texas toast we could actually enjoy.  Last week it was too hot to cook or even to want to eat anything warm so this was a nice change

Day 252- Tuesday, 9/9/25

Dog training is back on with the cooler temps.  The skis were a bit threatening but it didn't rain on us and felt good out.  The sunsets in the country are also pretty amazing.  With the shorter day we don't finish these classes until it's almost dark now.  Soon we'll be forced to have class inside because the whole thing will be in the dark.

Day 253- Wednesday, 9/10/25

The amazing thunder clouds continue.  This is what the sky looked like leaving work today and there was scattered rain here and there also with thunder and lightening at night.

Day 254- Thursday, 9/11/25

Today at work I stayed after to support a couple of our students presenting their summer experience videos at the Global Programs film festival. They are all so creative and all went to some amazing countries to experience veterinary medicine is different ways. A nice perk--dinner was provided.

Day 255- Friday, 9/12/25

LOL!  When we go walking and the neighbor's sprinklers just happen on Bailey like to bite at the water as she passes by.  It's so cute.  She also got her for real final Bark Box today which means she'll have a fun weekend.  TGIF!

Day 256- Saturday, 9/13/25

Time for our next wine pick up where we met some of our bay area friends and stayed to have lunch with them.  The day was perfect too--nice and pleasant out with a bit of breeze that even got a little chilly at times.

Day 257- Sunday, 9/14/25

Now look at him--you can tell it's cooler since he's seeking out blanket forts again and not looking so pathetic.  Our backyard is much cooler too and I love how the setting sun filters through the trees as the day and week come to an end.

Thanks for checking in.  On to the next!

Week 36

Welcome back to a new month!

Here are the pictures from the week 36:

Day 244- Monday, 9/1/25

Happy Labor Day!  This year it's super early on the 1st of September which feels strange. I am glad to be home another day though and will find some time to chill especially since it's too hot to be outside.

Day 245- Tuesday, 9/2/25

No dog class again but we did practice some training at home getting her to "crate" on command.  Also look at this rock pile next to her treat jar.   She loves to collect rocks and bring them to us in exchange for a treat.  I think it's time to put these ones back where they belong since the tray is now at capacity.

Day 246- Wednesday, 9/3/25

We are starting to see more and more leaves drop around here.  Fall will be here before we know it.  Tonight Wednesday season 2, part 2 dropped as well so we started watching that.

Day 247- Thursday, 9/4/25

Ugh--the heat again!  Poor guy.  Interestingly enough, even with the heatwave, I still was able to see the first red leaves of the new season pop up.  Love that color!

Day 248- Friday, 9/5/25

Bailey heading into the weekend chilling in her bone yard.  She's an aggressive power chewer so at least she enjoys these to chew on instead of furniture or shoes.  Our Friday night movie was this gem we found on Prime.

Day 249- Saturday, 9/6/25

With the heat I have to really remember to water these outside potted plants EVERYDAY and thankfully Tyler made sure they got watered last week while we were away when he came to feed the cat.  Otherwise, it was a slow day where I continued to catch up on things in the house and in the yard.

Day 250- Sunday, 9/7/25

We have a couple wine pick-ups we need to do so we went to Bogle today for that one and will save the other one for next weekend when we have friends in town that want to join us.

That wraps up another week.  Ticking them off as quickly as I can.

Week 35

Welcome back!

Here are the pictures from the week 35:

Day 237- Monday, 8/25/25

Back to work after vacation and of course so much to catch up on.

Day 238- Tuesday, 8/26/25

We're getting back to routines at home too. No dog class today but we did get in a nice long walk.  After our walk I took a quick trip to the store and found this lady bug up above me on the ceiling of my car.  Must be a new one because no spots yet.

Day 239- Wednesday, 8/27/25

It's hot in the high 90's and Rusty is over it.  I don't blame him.  I just came up to turn on the AC.  John is working on getting our new computer set up. which is another reason my blog work flow got delayed  The unit showed up just before we went to Hawaii but there wasn't time then to deal with it.  The older one has been glitchy and will not support the new Windows operating system coming out so this one should do the trick.

Day 240- Thursday, 8/28/25

Tonight's walk was a quick one because of all the heat.  That sun is brutal and we try to wait until it's down below tree level so we have more shade which helps a lot.

Day 241- Friday, 8/29/25

TGIF and I'm glad my week back is ending with the start of a 3-day weekend.  Bailey is glad and so happy we are home.  She loves her peeps and is such a cuddle bug. For tonight's viewing we had started this series recently and there were not really any good movies so we continued watching this tonight.  It's a good one and really ridiculous how it's all unfolding.

Day 242- Saturday, 8/30/25

Will be wearing the shirt I got in Maui today while using our new computer to work through all the pictures we took.  Also spending time with this guy who missed us as well but was also taken good care of by Tyler and Lupe.

Day 243- Sunday, 8/31/25

I spied these fresh newly growing pinecones that are a pretty shade of green and have great texture.  Also while they were over for Sunday dinner and our early Labor Day feast we passed off this gift to Tyler & Lupe from our trip as a way to thank them for pet-sitting.

Another week done and just a handful more to go.
