Week 42

Welcome back and happy Thursday!  The past week was super wet but thankfully no wind and not really that cold which was nice.

Take a look at the pictures from week 42:

Day 286- Monday, 10/13/25

Today started out sunny but by early afternoon the clouds moved in and the rain hit hard.  It was very on and off though so we were still able to squeeze is a dog walk during one of the breaks. It also felt like a good gloomy evening to watch another October scary movie so we streamed this new film that kept us guessing and was pretty intense at the end.

Day 287- Tuesday, 10/14/25

It was another very wet day so dog training class was cancelled but we still were able to walk.  It wasn't a completely dry walk but the rain was light and no wind so it was still pleasant.  I also liked seeing how many more leaves were on the ground because of the weather.

Day 288- Wednesday, 10/15/25

We had ham and cheese sliders with cider for dinner just before we watched Survivor and The Amazing Race.  Bailey continues to be a big snuggle bug and even more so when the temps are cooler.

Day 289- Thursday, 10/16/25

This week I had to pull out all the winter stuff--boots, sweaters, jeans, and hooded jackets.  The change was nice though as I continue to enjoy this fall season.

 Day 290- Friday, 10/17/25

TGIF!  Cheers to the weekend and to another scary movie.  It was fun to watch this re-creation with members from the first cast making cameos.

 Day 291- Saturday, 10/18/25

I was able to pick these pomegranates off a neighbor's tree today that provided me with a rare treat to snack on this afternoon.  They were so sweet and juicy but kind of messy to eat.  Also the fall color in the park is looking pretty amazing right now and popped against today's very blue sky.  After our wet week we had a super nice, sunny and clear weekend.  Back inside we've been working through this new series by the creators of Ozark and are almost finished.  Kind of a crazy ride!

 Day 292- Sunday, 10/19/25

It's early Sunday morning and we're just trying to wake up while the pets are raring to go and wanting to play.  They have been particularly active and frisky enjoying the cooler weather.

Another week in the books and just a couple days late. I had longer work hours this week and no remote works days which means less home computer time.

Week 41

Welcome back an happy Tuesday!

Here are the pictures from week 41:

Day 279- Monday, 10/6/25

We're still in antigen slide making mode at work--one batch of 800 done and second batch of 800 started. Back at home after stopping at the store coming from work I set out some bigger pumpkins picked up from there.  This week will be another week with many fall vibes.

Day 280- Tuesday, 10/7/25

Out back today I  noticed one of our bushes is sporting some new red leaves sprinkled in between the green ones and they light up nicely in the sunlight. Then out front Bailey checked out the newer pumpkins I put out as we passed by to load in the car for her training class.  The harvest moon right now is best for viewing but not so much at my house so thankfully I got to see it in all it's glory out in the country without obstructed views during the dog training class.  Pictures don't really do it justice though--looks even cooler in real life.

Day 281- Wednesday, 10/8/25

I found a pretty red leaf at the park on our walk tonight.  The red ones are the hardest to find around here.  We have way more yellow and brown ones during fall.  Thankfully our nice gentle Indian Sumer temps are holding strong making the outdoors very pleasant right now.  I love this time of year and I also started putting out more inside decorations this week.

Day 282- Thursday, 10/9/25

I got a haircut and color refresh yesterday more fitting for fall and winter. Bailey is already the perfect fall color but she did get a new chew toy that will hopefully last longer because of it's ring shape.  We call it her donut chew since it kind of looks like and old fashioned chocolate donut. In other news, Grey's season 22 premiered today but we'll be watching it later on Hulu because it's on too late for us to watch mid-week, and yes, we're that old.

Day 283- Friday, 10/10/25

TGIF!  The porch decorations are now complete after putting out others that are not just pumpkins.  Later we settled down to watch this new thriller, staring Keira Knightly, as our Friday night movie.  Not really a scary movie just more of a mystery to be unraveled.

Day 284- Saturday, 10/11/25

Today we met Bailey's dog pack for a nice walk around the lagoon at Pena Adobe Park near Vacaville and we couldn't have asked for a nicer day.  It was also a great way to wear Bailey out.  Later we picked this scary movie to watch continuing with our plan to watch as many scary movies in October as we can.  Big creepy vibes with this one for sure.

Day 285- Sunday, 10/12/25

Rusty likes to supervise my bed making skills from this chair in the mornings.  It's another way he gets time with me away from the dog. Once chores are done I mange to get outside I'm noticing that we have a lot of plants flowing in a fall bloom right now.  I think they are enjoying the cool temps after being heat stressed for the past couple months.  This bush in particular, out by our shed, really blossomed over the past week looking better than it has all year. The color is really nice too since it's different from all the other fall colors right now.

That wraps up another week.  We're expecting a rainy week ahead so it was a good thing we enjoyed the great outdoors a lot this past week.

week 40

Welcome back and to a new month.  Also this post gets me caught up!

Here are the pictures from week 40:

Day 272- Monday, 9/29/25

This week has all the fall vibes starting with an afternoon walk where fallen leaves had taken over the gutters, the parks, and the streets..  There was cloud cover too so it was nice and cool as well but not cold or windy--just perfect.

Day 273- Tuesday, 9/30/25

We weren't sure if dog class would happen outside or not because it was threatening to rain but thankfully it never did.  The clouds were pretty impressive though and we did move into a nice lit shed once it started to get dark. That was good practice for the dogs being is close quarters and learning to still pay attention.

Day 274- Wednesday, 10/1/25

Bring on October and the rain!  My drive in this morning was dry but as soon as I got to campus it started to pour rain for at least for 20 min and then the rest of the day was fine. Warm pizza with hard cider was a perfect dinner for this fall day and to enjoy while watching Survivor.

Day 275- Thursday, 10/2/25

There was a Niner's game on tonight so John had his flag flying and it spooked Bailey a bit flapping in the breeze as we headed out to walk but she is learning to be more curious than scared of new things these days.  Later I put a few pumpkins out around the house and turned this one on after dark. She was pretty curious about it too.

Day 276- Friday, 10/3/25

I'm so glad it's Friday.  It seemed like a long week and work is super busy now so I'm ready for some down time.  Looks like Bailey is too.  This is another favorite way she like to lay when she is asleep--silly girl.  Since it's now October it's time to watch a month of scary movies and we kicked that off tonight with this creepy one.  It was another one we saw a preview of in theaters over the summer and have been waiting for it to stream-great timing.

Day 277- Saturday, 10/4/25

I enjoyed some cider donuts with my coffee this morning and later got a few more fall decorations put out but up higher where Bailey can't reach them because I know she would be attracted to those gourds and would think they are toys to destroy.

Day 278- Sunday, 10/5/25

Rusty requested a lap nap while I was futzing around in the office so I took a break and followed up with a few things on my phone as he slept.  Later, after Sunday dinner, we started this newish series I've had on my list which is a pretty intense psychological thriller and is told in different perspectives.  Can't wait to watch more episodes.

That's all and so happy to finally be caught up.  Hopefully I can keep it that way.
