Week 48

Welcome back and happy Tuesday! It's back to reality after a nice week off with the family. I got a lot of stuff done but still feel like I got nothing done and can't believe it's December already. Winter has struck and is in full force with lots of rain and freezing temps. We need it, and the change is nice, but the logistical mess it makes can get old real fast. I am trying to embrace it though because it is December after all, and I do like that the weather fits the season. Alas, my older boys are back at school, but the good news is they'll be home again in just 2-3 weeks for an even longer break.  Can't wait!

Here's a look at last week's pictures:

Day 329- Monday, 11/25/19
We picked up our traditional chocolate turkey's yesterday and it was a treat seeing them set out this morning to help us kick off our Thanksgiving week.  Even still there are basketball commitments so off Brandon goes early this morning to practice during his break.

Day 330- Tuesday, 11/26/19
Today instead of practice the team headed to Woodland to volunteer at the county food bank which was a great service and team building experience for them.  Tomorrow and Thursday they have off and then there is a tournament Friday and Saturday.

Day 331- Wednesday, 11/27/19
We were in the kitchen most of the day baking pies and cornbread and cranberry muffins.  Justin was a huge help and it's fun to have him back at home in the kitchen with me.  He did a great job making the pies.  Then close to midnight, after a delayed flight, Tyler finally made it home for his short break with us.  It's been 5 months since he's been home so we're all happy to have him back including the pets.

Day 332- Thursday, 11/28/19
Happy Thanksgiving!  We celebrated with the Wong family enjoying a great turkey and ham feast followed by pie for dessert.

Day 333- Friday, 11/29/19
Good news- the basketball tournament was cancelled. This is great because we have other things to do.  This morning I had to run into work for a couple hrs dealing with time sensitive cultures in 2 different labs but was able to get home in time for a trip out with the family to pick up our Christmas tree.  I think this is the first year in 4 years that we have all been home to do this together so it was nice to be able to make it happen this year.  Tyler's truck comes in handy for effortlessly hauling the tree home.

Day 334- Saturday, 11/30/19
Cheers to the start of the Christmas season!  It was a lazy day today.  We got just off on his train back to school and then enjoyed relaxing by the fire with the tree lit on this very wet and yucky day.  Thank goodness we were out getting the tree yesterday because no one wanted to be out in the nasty mess today.

Day 335- Sunday, 12/1/19
Brandon is now back to being the only child at home since they other two have headed back to school.  Tyler flew out bright and early so guess who gets to hold the monthly marker?  Poor thing--lol! Welcome to December!  The tree still only has lights. We'll have to slowly continue to decorate it over the next week.

Wait!  One more-

December's Family Photo

It's not the best picture but at least we're all here tree hunting as a whole family.

That's it!  I'm done for another week.  See then.
