Week 34

Welcome back and happy Tuesday! Whew, so much happened in the past 2 weeks it's all such a blur with 2 back to back road trips for me. At least the one this past week was more fun and not as much time spent in the car although still more than I would have liked.  Now with all that over it's time to focus on big projects at work plus getting the house and yard back to in order.

Here are last week's pictures:

Day 233- Monday 8/21/23

I'm at work just for today before I hit the road again. The weather is weird. We got a good soaking of rain this morning from what's left of the tropical storm here in Calif. plus it's very balmy out which is so not typical for us at all when we have rain.  I do like how it freshened things up a bit though and al our heat stressed plants are happy with the extra rain.

Day 234- Tuesday, 8/22/23

This road trip is for us as we celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary. We were happy to escape to the Sanctuary Beach Resort near Monterey and soak up a good bit of nature.  Cheers to us for always loving each other to the moon and back.

Day 235- Wednesday, 8/23/23

First thing this morning I enjoyed exploring the beach on this beautiful sunny day.  We couldn't ask for better weather.  Later we took in a safari tour on the Elkhorn Slough where there is an abundance of sea lions, sea otters, harbor seals, and birds to see.  It's something I've been wanting to do for awhile since it so closely relates to my work and we got lucky seeing so many animals in their beautiful habitat pretty much immediately as we sat in the boat.  After that we hit up Phil's Fish Market just down the way which is legendary around these parts.

Day 236- Thursday 8/24/23

Sadly it's time to say goodbye to the sand and sea as the gloomy fog and grey skies role in--this is more typical weather around here so I'm glad we had mostly sunshine the past 2 days instead.  Heading home Google took us on different route through the delta due to an accident blocking the usual way.  At least it was more scenic and fun to cross a good number of bridges.  Look at John's left arm in the driving picture.  He got creative and ordered a temporary tattoo for our anniversary with the infinity sign, our names, and wedding date.  What a cool thing to do.

Day 237- Friday, 8/25/23

We're back but Tyler and Lupe are now on their own road trip to LA for their honeymoon which they haven't had a chance to take until now.  I'm feeding Fred for them since they fed Rusty for us. Tyler is showing Lupe around UCLA and finally got a picture of him in the inverted fountain.  As freshman they they start out touching the water in the fountain for good luck and then they are not supposed to let the water touch them again for fear of not graduating in 4 years so usually just after graduation they all jump in the fountain to celebrate making it in 4 years but because of COVID he was not able to do that until now.

Day 238- Saturday, 8/26/23

This weekend we finally got around to putting our clothes away in new dressers.  I've been on the road or working pretty much the whole time since they were delivered so it's great to now put them to use.  Next weekend we'll work on repositioning all the wall art to fit just right.

Day 239- Sunday, 8/27/23

I started the week with me and a cup of coffee and seems fitting to end the week with me and a glass a of wine.  Cheers to a chill Sunday with my furry friend by my side.

That's it.  See you next week as we start September and can look forward to the beginnings of fall.
