Week 39

Welcome back and welcome to October.  Fall is here and it feels great.  It's time to break out the pumpkins and blankets and start to enjoy warm comfort foods again.  Thankfully for us this feeling has come early and we'll take it. Normally we have summer heat well into October and it doesn't start to feel like Fall until around Halloween but not this year and the change is so nice.

Now for the pictures from our last week in September:

Day 268- Monday, 9/25/23

John is prepping my car for the rainy season and just in time too because we are expecting rain later this week.  I needed more wiper fluid and new wiper blades.  Also Brandon finally landed a job!  Poor kid has been applying like crazy so I'm happy his perseverance paid off.  This is a university job and it's perfect for him since he's a psych major and it's social science based.  He really likes that he can do it remotely as well.  His training begins this week.

Day 269- Tuesday, 9/26/23

Feeling more of those Fall vibes this week.  I found a way to make my own pumpkin-spiced lattes at home and Rusty found a perfect blanket to nap in.  Love his little feet poking out--too cute.

Day 270- Wednesday, 9/27/23

There was roadwork done our street today so we couldn't drive on it all day.  Thankfully the cross streets untouched leaving us a place to park our cars and walk to when we needed to get out and go somewhere.  It was kind of a pain but we're happy to have the street in much better shape and glad they are doing this for most of the streets in the city.  Later it was nice to have some of our favorites shows starting again and a bonus to now have Survivor and Amazing race on the same night back to back.

Day 271- Thursday, 9/28/23

Today was a long day at work but it was a beautiful day out and I got to meet up with friends afterward at a local winery.  It was a great way to catch up and decompress from the day.

Day 272- Friday, 9/29/23

TGIF!  Justin cracks me up and I'm glad he's helping others and also having fun when he can.  His gaming club that meets every Friday on campus has been a college highlight over the years.  He'll miss it for sure.  Rusty also cracks me up when he sleeps like this. Silly kitty! Otherwise, we had a quiet Friday and for our movie tonight we watched another really good Amazon movie based on another moving true story.

Day 273- Saturday, 9/30/23

A storm is moving in and we actually got some decent rain today. It made for a good day to stay home and get chores done.

Day 274- Sunday, 10/1/23

Welcome to a new month!  October is the start of the fast moving holiday months.  Not sure I'm completely ready for that but I do welcome the change.  It's super unusual for us to see rain in the first part of October but our tree leaves are full of raindrops today from an overnight system moving though and there was even some snowfall in the Sierras.  Some are saying we'll have another really wet winter season and seeing rain so soon now I'm thinking they may be right.
