Week 49

Welcome back and happy Tuesday! The boys get to come home for the holidays later this week so we have been prepping for that.  It's always fun for them to come home to the place decorated for Christmas.  I can't wait to spend more time with them and do some holiday baking as well.

Until then here are last week's pictures:

Day 338- Monday, 12/4/23

I put the fall candy dish away and brought out the winter one.  I've also been doing my Christmas shopping 100% online and the packages are starting to roll in.  Now to find the time to get them wrapped and put under the tree. My helper, Rusty, is cold and napping tunneled under the blanket on the couch which is where you can find him most days now from 9am-3pm.

Day 339- Tuesday, 12/5/23

There he is out on the newly lit stairs but still cold so assuming the loaf position and waiting for us to finish watching TV so we can all go to bed.  We've made great progress working our way through season 1 of The Crown and will soon be on to the next.  It's great to have something to binge watch while waiting for the rest of our favorite regular TV shows to return after the writer/actor strikes delayed the new seasons.

Day 340- Wednesday, 12/6/23

Wednesday at work I'm starting out in the lab and then attending a Gorilla Doctors' seminar by zoom in my cubicle.

Day 341- Thursday, 12/7/23

Love Ginkgo trees and their pretty shaped leaves. Makes me happy to see so many on campus as they are a historic marvel dating back to the Jurassic age plus they also give off great fall color.  It had just started to rain when I took the Ginkgo leaf picture and then by the time I made it home about an hour later it was pouring.  Thankfully the rain held off until after I was done running errands outside with a cart full of paper things that needed to be moved between buildings.

Day 342- Friday, 12/8/23

Cheers to the weekend!  This was our Friday night movie that dropped today on Netflix with a great cast.  It was very dooms-day like but a nice change of pace from all sappy Christmas movies running right now.

Day 343- Saturday, 12/9/23

This is happening soon!  Justin picked up his regalia for Fall Commencement at HSU.  We'll all be traveling up there at the end of next week for the big event and then will be bringing him home.  Meanwhile, currently at home, I was finally getting around to decorating the tree with more than just lights and banged out my Christmas cards.

Day 344- Sunday, 12/10/23

It was nice to see some sunshine today and the shadows it created on the kitchen counter caught my eye.  Also, in between loads of laundry, I took a break from all things Christmas and chore-like to color a bit which is relaxing, fun, and stress free.  There is just a lot going on right now so it's good for me to find an easy creative escape here and there.

That does it for now.  Next week will be very full but all good things and much needed family time to come.
