Week 48

Welcome back and happy December!  After the previous week's series of storms we thankfully had a pleasantly sunny and dry week leading up to Thanksgiving.  It was also nice to have a full house and to be able to spend time with all our boys while enjoying some good meals together.

Here's what last week looked like:

Day 330- Monday, 11/25/24
Brandon and Bailey are enjoying the time getting reconnected.  She warmed up to him pretty much right away despite his 4 month absence.  Justin took this picture of them while I was at work.  Also while I was working John kindly took Brandon to another heart dr visit still gathering baseline readings for future reference.  He had a physical stress test and echo cardiogram done today. So far all looks good.

Day 331- Tuesday, 11/26/24

Last Friday after work Justin's car had a troubles starting and couple indicator lights on.  He was able to drive it home but it was lurching when accelerating.  The problem seems to be some sensor malfunctions so today we had it towed in for repair.  In other news, Bailey's November Bark Box was delivered this afternoon so now she has her own treats and new toys for Thanksgiving.

Day 332- Wednesday, 11/27/24

I'm home for the rest or the week so this time I get to take a kid to the heart dr.  I tried scheduling them on the same day but it wasn't an option so here we are at the same place 2 days later with a different boy.  No stress test for him--just the echo cardiogram.  We're not sure exactly why but probably because Brandon has the heart failure gene and Justin does not so they are gathering a bit more information with more tests on Brandon's heart function.  We have follow-up appointments next month (same day for both this time) to discuss test results so we can ask then.  Later Justin and I got to work in the kitchen prepping as many things a we could for the feast tomorrow--cranberry muffins for breakfast, corn bread for stuffing for the turkey and pumpkin pie for dessert.  The Turkey will also be soaking in brine overnight that was made today.

Day 333- Thursday, 11/28/24

Happy Thanksgiving!  The brothers three enjoyed their time together catching up.  We had a lovely turkey and ham feast with all the fixings plus some yummy desserts.  Bailey also enjoyed having a full house and all the fun stuff included in her Bark Box.  She's currently holding a turkey shaped treat- release toy that can be stuffed with all kinds of yummy things.

Day 334- Friday, 11/29/24

It was so nice to have a down day to recover.  Thanksgiving meals are yummy but a lot of work followed by a lot of clean up. Today Brandon helped me run a few morning errands (mostly we need gas and milk) because he misses driving.  After lunch we took in a movie and this was a good one that we all enjoyed.  Earlier in the week we watched the first one together to prep especially since it was released before the younger boys were even born and that proved to be helpful.

Day 335- Saturday, 11/30/24

This morning I enjoyed the last of the cranberry muffins with my coffee--they are so good.  I'll have to make more for Christmas and/or New Years.  Sadly it's time to send Brandon back down south for school, but we'll have him home again in just a few weeks for the next couple holidays.

Day 336- Sunday, 12/1/24

Happy December! 🎄 Let the Christmas craziness begin.  I'm not liking how late Thanksgiving was this year putting it too close to Christmas.  It makes me feel like I have no time to enjoy the build up.  These are the only decorations I have out right now.  The rest will have to wait for next weekend.  Having a tree with a curiously mischievous puppy should be interesting.  😜

That wraps up another full and fun week.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you had a wonderful holiday with your family and friends.
