Week 22

Hello and welcome back. What a week it's been. Here we are trying to get back to a new normal and it's just not going to happen anytime soon now more than ever. I hope everyone is staying safe.  I'm sad and angry about the senseless murder of George Floyd. I understand the protests and the need for change, but I don't get the vandalism, looting, and violence. There has got to be a better way and even worse I know there some out there taking advantage of the current situation just to create more chaos--karma will come for them. Just keep being your rightful self and pray for the mercy of this country.  The healing needs to begin and understanding and serious change needs to happen but violence is not the answer.

Here are last week's pictures-

Day 146- Monday, 5/25/20
Happy Memorial Day!  We had a good family day honoring those who lost their lives protecting our country and kicking off the start of summer.  After a great grilled feast there were brownie sundaes for dessert and then a warm but refreshing night swim.

Day 147- Tuesday, 5/26/20
Today is his first day of summer classes for Justin and he's less than thrilled but only has one for now and then a second one starting in a few weeks.  Not sure he'll be able to work this summer so he might as well bang out a couple classes.

Day 148- Wednesday, 5/27/20
It's been hot and keeps getting hotter but there is a cool down with chance of showers coming soon which will be a much needed break from this heat.

Day 149- Thursday, 5/28/20
I had a busy morning at home with a few different zoom meetings and while I was in one of them got a text from Tyler saying he was just told he got a service award for his job.  They were supposed to have a special event in their honor but of course this year it had to be virtual.  The up side to that is that it was recorded and put on YouTube so I was able to see his boss speak on his behalf and she also shared a few picture of him at work--pretty cool.  After my meetings were done I had time to relax and start a book I've seen other people post about in different circles.

Day 150- Friday, 5/29/20
It is much cooler today and a bit cloudy but still nice and sunny out so I could enjoy some time in the yard after work.  I think this cat pretty much slept here in the home office all day though.  I spread that blanket on the couch to help with the cat hair but course he's not into it.

Day 151- Saturday, 5/30/20
Exciting news and disheartening news today.  First there was the SpaceX/NASA rocket launch of the Crew Dragon shuttle to restart America's space travel and exploration efforts which is wonderful to see.  Then there were the riots with car fires, burning buildings, looting, shots fired and the start of curfews at a time when we are all trying to feel safe leaving our homes. Ugh!  Not great news especially when some of the worst in is LA (photo credit LA Daily News) where I still have a college student.  Please, let's find a better way.

Day 152- Sunday, 5/31/20
Today seemed like a good day for a spa day--Bella's spa day with a bath, nail trim, brush out and many treats to help her feel like this was a good idea.  LOL!  She's not a fan but she came out so nice and clean and fluffy.

That's it!  See you next week hopefully as we enjoy some peace, calm, and understanding that start meaningful discussions and work towards effective solutions.  There are no easy answers but violence cannot be the way.

  2. It is very sad, and I agree, violence is never the way. Two wrongs do not make a right. So many prayers for so many things right now! Beautiful pictures for this week! Hope you cool down and hope your college kid is safe in LA!
