Week 11

Welcome back and happy Tuesday!  Life's been a bit crazy so I'm behind as our world was turned upside the end of this 11th week. I've continued to create the posts but have not published until now as we've needed the space and time to process it all.  Most of this week here was enjoyable as we got to spend time with Justin home for spring break.  Then for the last bit of our week and for the upcoming future we'll be dealing with John's health crisis.

For now, here the pictures for week 11:

Day 73- Monday, 3/14/22

Happy Pi Day!  Justin helped me make the chocolate pie and we bought the berry pie to bake.  Both were good and a fun treat.

Day 74- Tuesday, 3/15/22

Finally a little measurable rain for us which made for the perfect day to curl up and start a new series to watch.  Her accent and voice are bit annoying but the story is fascinating to follow.

Day 75- Wednesday, 3/16/22

Wednesday at work I'm babysitting someone else's protozoal cultures that need feeding in all those tiny flasks, and I'm also working with my own bacterial cultures making sure these 2 plates made from 2 different media sources allow for growth of the organisms in the same way.

Day 76- Thursday, 3/17/22

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  I found this Thin Mint Frappuccino alternative to the shamrock shake from Starbucks.  It's green-tea based and was really good but the boys we're not a fan. Oh well!  Later, it was a bit windy out but bright and sunny so it made for a good day to be outside watching high school tennis.

Day 77- Friday, 3/18/22

After our short rain event Tuesday there's been nothing but clear-blue skies and those skies really made this neighborhood palm tree pop.  Just before dinner Rusty supervised as I helped Justin finish his taxes.  He heads back to school tomorrow so we had to get them done.  Then we had an early 21st birthday celebration for him since he won't be here on his actual birthday at the end of the month.  He chose to have breakfast for dinner with his first ever mimosa.

Day 78- Saturday, 3/19/22

Now things get real. We decided to take matters in our own hands after weeks of getting nowhere with John's primary care doctor and headed to the ER in Davis for answers.  They had multiples tests run and results in less than an hour.  All signs and results pointed to congestive heart failure. He was then transferred to the Heart and Vascular Center at Mercy General in Sacramento where he had a stint put in to fix a blocked artery upon arrival.

Day 79- Sunday, 3/20/22

This is our home away from home for the next few days while John recovers.  It is also the 1st day of spring and in my backyard, while checking on the dog after being at the hospital all day, I spied this brand new baby heart leaf shining in the sun and took it as a positive sign.

Certainly not the best way to end a week but at least he's now getting the help he needs.  Thanks in advance for positive thoughts and prayers during his journey to recovery.
