Week 22

Welcome back and happy Tuesday!  We had a good and full week.  More good food, more visitors, more nice weather, and more fun with the pets.  What more could you ask for?

Here are last week's pictures:

Day 148- Monday, 5/27/24

Happy Memorial Day!  It's just the 3 of us celebrating this year.  We usually open the pool for the first swim of the season on this day but temps dropped and the wind was really bad earlier so maybe next weekend.

Day 149- Tuesday, 5/28/24

I'm not working remote today since yesterday was a holiday and I have cultures that can't wait another day.  I was also greeted with a package of plates to do some bacterial testing on first thing this morning.  At least there were donuts out too a bit later for National Donut Day.  Yum!

Day 150- Wednesday, 5/29/324

It's time to start working on getting rid of the gates in the house.  The hardest part will be training Bailey to stay off the stairs and out of Rusty's office and bathrooms which are his safe spaces.  They get along ok but she's still too playful for him and doesn't know when to settle around him.  The more they are exposed to each other without gates though the more the novelty will wear off and the more they will learn to relax around each other.

Day 151- Thursday, 5/30/24

We had so much food from the long weekend that we had a lot of leftovers we've been eating all week so today we were ready for a break.  I made a nice ravioli dinner to help change things up.  The red striped ones are crab and lobster. The plain ones are beef and both have great flavor.  The Pupsicle for Bailey loaded with a treat to lick is our new best friend during formal dinner time because it takes her a good 30 mins to finish and gives us peace while we eat.  without this or a Bully Stick she is barking relentlessly when put outside or bothering us at the table if left inside after escaping from her gated area (another reason it's time for the gates to go--they can no longer hold her well).

Day 152- Friday, 5/31/24

TGIF!  Here's to winding down with the pup after work.  Later Justin's partner Shane drove in from Humboldt to stay a couple days and after trying to spy a reluctant Rusty they went out for sushi. John and I decided to go out too. We tried a new place for dinner called Cornerstone Café and Bar (their web picture).  It's in the same building we used to enjoy a great Mexican restaurant so it felt a bit nostalgic being back even with the food being completely different.

Day 153- Saturday, 6/1/24

Bailey says, "Happy June!"  How?!!! May is a blur for sure.  When I look back at all that happened in May I can't believe that was all in one month.  Wish I could slow things down including the growth of this puppy.  She's quickly looking more and more like an adult.  That is a new no-stuffing duck toy we just introduced her to since she has now learned how to rip the stuffing out of her other 2 bird toys.  LOL! She keeps us on our toes.

Day 154- Sunday, 6/2/24

Most of the weekend was about chores but today we found the time to get out for wine pick ups and enjoyed all the local vineyards we visited on this beautiful day along the river.  It was very pleasant out and important to take in because next week were headed into a heat wave of triple digits. Summer is upon us for sure.

That's all.  See you next week as we try to stay cool.
