Week 39

Welcome back!

Here are the pictures from week 39:

Day 265- Monday, 9/22/25

Started the week with a large antigen harvest for slide making at work which is one of our biggest money makers not tied to grants--super important now more than ever.  Back at home our pup loves the couch pillows and knows how relax once she's ready to wind down for the day.  This spot in particular with a good head pillow is her favorite.  She'll also build a nest with the pillows and blanket in the corner part of the couch usually after dark.

Day 266- Tuesday, 9/23/25

First off, happy birthday to our oldest Tyler!  The picture was taken Sunday when we celebrated with him, and Bailey very much enjoyed being part of the party.  He requested this cake from Costco that I had never heard of before and it was amazing so we'll definitely be buying it again for other events.  Otherwise, for today, it was hot out and I was working remote so thankfully I could be in shorts to help stay cool.  I kept getting an unwanted visitor though who was trying to sneak her way into the office.  We keep a latch on the door so the cat can get in but she can't because this is one of his safe places away from her. I also cannot work efficiently with her in here.  Eventually she gave up and went back to spend time with John.

Day 267- Wednesday, 9/24/25

A storm system rolled in overnight with some impressive clouds which helped cool things down and even brought a little rain but no wind and not really cold--just very pleasant out.  It was a huge contrast from yesterday when dog classes were cancelled due to extreme heat, and we'll take it!  Later we settled down to watch the premier for the new season of Survivor--#49!

Day 268- Thursday, 9/25/25

I found Rusty in Justin's room after work.  He really doesn't spend much time in here anymore now that Justin has moved away.  He's also starting to "loaf" again with the cooler temps.  When he lays like this especially in the fall we call him our pumpkin loaf.  Tonight there was another premiere this time for the Amazing Race.  Thankfully after this week it will be on Wednesdays right after Survivor which is better for me because Grey's is starting back up next week on Thursdays.  Love this time of year when all the good TV shows come back with new seasons--it's been a long dry spell.

Day 269- Friday, 9/26/25

When I need to get shots I try to do it on Fridays just in case I need the next day to fully recover.  This Friday I got my COVID and Flu shots for the season and thankfully aside from a sore arm had no other side effects.  The timing was perfect too because at first the COVID one was not available for everybody then they allowed it for all and now I guess it's being restricted again.*sigh*  TGIF!  Our Friday night movie was one we have been waiting on for streaming and Netfix just dropped it this week.

Day 270- Saturday, 9/27/25

Justin's been sending me some fun pictures of wildlife he sees near his new place and on campus in the Humboldt area.  Here at home after doing chores all day we decided it was time for a date night.  John took me for dinner at a local favorite we haven't been to in awhile, and then, for dessert, we tried this new place which sells a random mix of things. The handmade ice-cream is really good with a lot of fun flavors.  We'll have to come back to try their shaved ice before the cold temps really kick in.

Day 271- Sunday, 9/28/25

I used the air-fryer to heat up my leftovers from yesterday and they crisped up nicely for dinner.  After dinner we settled in to finish off the second season of this show we've been working our way through.  I think we have one more season left.  It was a nice relaxing evening to help end our week.  You can see Bailey again in her favorite spot with a couch  pillow for her head.  She'll usually start out curled up next to one of us and then will move over where where she has more space and a good pillow.

That's it for this week and after the next I'll be all caught up!
