Week 20

Welcome to Week 20 which takes us to Brandon's college graduation in beautiful southern California and then even so much more.  I told you May was crazy busy and super eventful.

Day 137- Monday, 5/18/26

Congratulations to Brandon on earning his BA degree in Pshycology with a minor in Human Services at Cal State University Fullerton!  We are so proud and happy to be here to celebrate with him and also meet his lovely girlfriend, Jessica, for the first time.  They make such a sweet couple.  Photo credit for the 1st and 4th pictures go to Evy Lens Photography who did a wonderful job on a profession grad shoot with Brandon a few weeks ago.  Perfect timing beacuse the final pictures dropped today while we at waiting on graduations to start.  What a great day and well organized by the school who provided plenty of good shade and nice big screens so everyone was comfortable and could see well.  We celebrated after with a fun dinner out and with dessert gifted from Jessica back at the hotel.

Day 138- Tuesday, 5/19/26

Early this morning we had to head to the airpirt so we could get back to our pets and work. While waiting for the plane we got a good picture of Bailey enjoying her time in the yard at her pet hotel and once we landed we got pictures from Brandon of Jessica's graduation that happened today.  Too bad they couldn't be on the same day and wish we could have stayed for hers to meet the family and give our support but it just didn't work out that way.  She now has a BA in Human Services.  We picked Bailey up on our drive home from the airport and she was super happy to be back with her peeps. The caretaker assigned to her made this really fun and cute staus report card and it looks like Bailey did great!

Day 139- Wednesday, 5/20/26

Back to reality and to play some catch up at work.  Also the weather was kind of cloudy and weird out today plus it looks like the school put up some new sinage that was refreshing to see.

Day 140- Thursday, 5/21/26

Nice and sunny again and just noticed that our Crape Myrtle is in bloom which hardly ever happens for us.  Then Brandon got a card in the mail from my sister so I took a picture of it to show him.  He'll continue to live in the LA area and hopefully find work soon to help suport that choice.

Day 141- Friday, 5/22/26

We wrapped up the work week with a trip to the lawyer for an update on our estate plans which was no fun but really needed to be done.  At least we are now set for a good bit and won't need to worry about it any time soon.  The Friday night movie for tonight was Marty Supreme which was not really what I was expecting but still well done.

Day 142- Saturday, 5/23/26

Wait!  There's more--this one just kind of popped up and even though we've already had a bit much this week it was hard to say no to a private vineyard tour with good friends.  It did not disappoint either.  The views were amazing, the wine was fantastic, and the owners really have a knack for sharing their experience and passion for the art of winemaking. Fun fact--one of the owners was the orginal Ronald McDonald in all the early TV commericals and had a great collection of phots from back in the day.

 

 Day 143- Sunday, 5/24/26 

Finally home long enough to get laundry done and the house in order to start a new week that will finish off this month.

  

Time to move on to the final week in May and then start a new month to kick off summer.

Week 19

Welcome to Week 19 where we start here at home and end in the LA area for a special celebration.

Here's a look at how the week went down:

Day 130- Monday, 5/11/26

Bailey got a harness since the gentle-lead was bothering the bridge of her nose so much her fur was rubbing off.  So far she really likes this better and has done well not pulling as much with it.  Also these pretty flowesr were a gift from Tyler and Lupe for Mother's Day.  They loook so pretty out front in our entry way and almost match Bailey's harness color.

Day 131- Tuesday, 5/12/26

Rusty waiting for me to take a couch break while remote working so he can cuddle.

Day 132- Wednesday, 5/13/26

I had another supervisor cohort training start today.  This one is a 2-day course so one more day left and then all the rest are just online do at ytour own pace sort of things.  Once I got home and had dinner we started wtachin this new series that just dropped and is getting a lot of buzz.

Day 133- Thursday, 5/14/26

Not usual for a Thursday but we'll be gone over the weekend and prepping for that tomorrow so today was a better day for a nice steak dinner. Bon appetit!

Day 134- Friday, 5/15/26

Silly girl!  When I get home from work all she wants to do is play, play, play and this is her favorite toy right now.  She also knows something is up because we are packing for a trip so she is a bit clinggy as well. Otherwise TGIF!  The Friday night movie of the week was APEX with Charlize Theron who still has got it terms of rocking action packed films.

Day 135- Saturday, 5/16/26

 We had to take Bailey to bording today since our flight leaves too early tomorrow to drop her off and Rusty is wondering where she went.  It's actuaally kind of nice for him to be able to enjoy being with us in our living-room space since without the dog messing with him.  Later for dinner we had a quick and simple leftover meal so we could finish the last bits of packing and prepping for our early flight tomrow.  Time for bed!

Day 136- Sunday, 5/17/26 

. . . . And off we go! Brandon's college graduation is tomorrow so we flew into Orange County today where he kindly picked us up and then showed us around the Cal State Fullerton campus before we retired for the night.

This month is certainly a busy one and next up a big day for Brandon!  Our youngest is graduating college--so surreal!

Week 18

Welcome to Week 18 which started out super wet and cold but then turned into full on beautiful spring.

Day 123- Monday, 5/4/26

This moring Rusty was seeking warmth from me before I managed to get ready for work and head out on this wet and wild day.  After work Bailey and I made it to the park for a quick walk between rainfall spurts.

Day 124- Tuesday, 5/5/26

Time for some warm comfort food so we made tacos for dinner.

Day 125- Wednesday, 5/6/26

Wednesday at work it was all about being in the lab getting things done.

Day 126- Thursday, 5/7/26

Now look at our beautiful sunny weather and just in time for an outdoor event.  The poppies on campus are all over the place these days and add so much fun color that you can't help but smile when you spot them.  I stayed late on campus so I could attend this Alumni Awards event where our Lab Faculty Leaders in charge were honored in a grand way.

Day 127- Friday, 5/8/26

LOL!  Someone wore herself out playing with a new toy. Otherwise TGIF!  We started this newish FX series tonight and it looks to be a good one.  I still remember the trafgic day when their plane crashed.

Day 128- Saturday, 5/9/26

 Rusty found a new sweet spot to nap and this is where I can find him most days now when he is nowhere else to be found.  Today was chore day.  I especially wanted to get laundry done and out of the way so I wouldn't have to do it tomorrow on Mother's Day.

Day 129- Sunday, 5/10/26 

Happy Mother's Day!  Tyler was the only one around this year but I did at least hear from the other 2.  It was a beautiful day out and we had a wonderful brunch to celebrate me 💗
